Burgiss Speaks at the Private Equity Research Consortium (PERC) Conference

In November, Burgiss presented at the Private Equity Research Consortium (PERC) Conference, held in Chapel Hill, NC. The conference, which was attended by some of the most prominent academic researchers and practitioners in private capital, was organized by the Institute for Private Capital.

Brian Schmid, Head of Product Management, provided an update on Burgiss data, speaking on topics such as the Burgiss Manager Universe and Burgiss’ plans to continue to grow its datasets. Additionally, he recapped some recent initiatives such as the annual taxonomy review for the Burgiss Private Capital Classification System (PCCS). The PCCS is the set of taxonomies used to classify private capital across all levels of investing, including funds, their underlying holdings, and direct investments. This year’s taxonomy review focused on the enhancement of the PCCS’s taxonomies for industry and geography classification.
